Lost River Gem
Gem was whelped on May 12, 2000.
Gem is the son of Elhew Damascus and Pinehill Elhew Flash, 100% Elhew. At the young age of 12 weeks, he was pointing scent with desire and style. He is intense and has drive that is second to none. He hunts medium range and adapts well to all game birds (quail, grouse, pheasant & woodcock). We feel Gem will be as good as his famous dad.

GEMSTONE
News flash Gem has officially been retired from the field and from breeding after this next litter he has been diagnosed with Cardiomyopathy (enlarged heart) and congestive right sided heart failure. His quality of life should still be great but he will be a couch potato with me for the remainder of his life. His preliminary diagnosis was by our regular Vet Dr. Lori Mehringer but we took him to Purdue University Small Animal Clinic for a more comprehensive check up. He was checked by Dr. Aliya Magee the university canine cardiologist. She was great explained everything in simple terms I could understand. The whole experience was great and would advise anyone with a more complex illness than can be handled at your local vet, Purdue is very cutting edge and will work with you and your pet. Below is a picture of Gem and the Cardio team that worked with him. From left to right Student Doctor Tracy Randlett, Dr. Aliya Magee cardiologist and Dr. Ashley Stich Veterinarian.
