P.A. Dad's last Pointer
These pictures were taken in 1972 with a little Kodak 110 pocket camera by me.

This page is dedicated to my Dad, Fred Beasley.  He started me down this road of the English Pointer.  Pop always had Pointers and bird hunted regularly.  He had me behind a gun at age 10 and taught me how to handle the gun the safely and how to shoot.  I started on rabbits and squirrels and then he let me tag along on his bird hunting forays.  As I got older he taught me about pointers and how to handle and train them.  By the time I could drive I was on my own I would load up the truck with one of Dad's dogs and off I would go.  Through the years of 1977 and 1978 the harsh winters desimated the quail population and when Dads last dog P.A. died and with no birds dog did not get another dog.  As the late eighties and nineties rolled around the quail started to make a comeback but dad decided he did not want another dog so I decided I would get one so we could hunt together again.  And you can see where that led me to today.  It was great to get to hunt with him again he never lost his shooting eye he could always get a bird on the rise and was deadly on singles.  As Dad's age progresseed and he could no longer hunt but he never lost his interest every weekend during season a little after dark Dad would call and see how I did and ask about the dogs and how they did and we would sit and talk dogs for a while.
I Love You Pop and miss every day,  I always think of you anytime I am with the dogs!
Thank You  Pop!
